If you have read older coverage saying DFW to Delhi is about to launch, that reporting has been overtaken by events. Dallas had a nonstop to Delhi approved in late 2024 and Air India walked it back in 2025 while working through its aircraft retrofit programme. There is no nonstop today and none scheduled, and we are not going to imply otherwise. We book this as a one-stop and we build it well.
Doha on Qatar Airways is the natural first choice, because DFW already has a Qatar nonstop into Doha of roughly fourteen and a half hours and the onward leg into Delhi is about four and a half. Flying time alone is around eighteen and three quarter hours, and with a normal layover the whole trip lands somewhere around twenty one to twenty four. Emirates through Dubai is a solid backup with a DFW nonstop of its own, and Etihad through Abu Dhabi is worth pricing when the schedule fits better.
The other option we price for Dallas travellers, and it surprises people, is a domestic connection through Chicago or Newark to pick up a Delhi nonstop from there. It is not usually the winner, because you are adding a leg and a check-in to a trip that is already long, and on certain dates it beats the Gulf routing on total time or fare. It deserves a look rather than an assumption.
What we care about most on this route is layover design. Twenty four hours of travel is survivable with a sensible connection and miserable with a fifty five minute sprint that fails.

That does not make Dallas a difficult market. It makes it a market where the connection is the product, and a well built connection out of DFW is a comfortable trip.
Building the layover properly
A minimum connection looks efficient on a screen and leaves nothing for a late departure out of DFW, an airport with real weather disruption in spring and summer. We prefer a connection that survives a delay to one that saves an hour on paper. If anyone in the party needs mobility assistance, tell us at booking: it should be filed at least forty eight hours ahead and it needs to cover the hub as well as both ends.

Diwali in October or November, mid-December through New Year, and June through August are the expensive windows. Late January through March and September into early November are softer.
